Abstract

This research explores how social media addiction affects students, focusing on manipulation and engagement. Researcher conducted interviews with students at Superior College(campus for University programs) to understand the impact of social media on their mental health and studies. Using the General Pathological Internet Use (GPIU) Theory, researcher examined how excessive social media use can lead to negative effects like poor grades, depression, low self-esteem, and feelings of inferiority by use Pakistan’s well known and prominent YouTuber family Vlogger Rajab Butt, as a research study. Findings of this research paper shows that excessive social media use can harm students’ academic performance and mental health. This study highlights the need for healthy online behavior and awareness about social media’s impact on youth. This research aims to contribute to the conversation on social media's impact on students.
