The creation of Folklore has been witnessed as omnipresent in the Pashtun societies from different geographical landscapes. It is one of the most authentic sources to retrieve the cultural, social and historical facts and structures of the society. “Angai” a feminine folkloric genre has been created in the Zhob Valley, Loralai, Killa Saifullah, Sherani, Sanzavai, Ziarat and other adjacent sub-cultural zones of the Northern Balochistan. The poetry created by the average bride (girl) unfolds voices of the ordinary Pashtun girls against the patriarchal, tribal and cultural structures which reduces women agency. This research paper tends to investigate the position and condition of the creative processes behind the creation of this particular genre created and sung by the “brides” during their marriages. The carves out inferences from empirical data obtained through questionnaire and argues on how this ancient feminine folkloric genre struggles with the basic question of its existence.
