Eco linguistics provides a way to look at the world from the ecological perspective in order to bring sustainability in life. The present study aims to understand the role of eco critical discourse analysis to reveal the ecological issues in discourse. The study investigates power relationship between nature and human from the perspective of eco critical discourse analysis in the short story ‘A mild attack of locust’. The study utilizes a qualitative research design with a descriptive, exploratory and interpretative research. The ecosophy proposed by Guattari (2009) has helped the researcher to understand our position, as a component of the climate where we reside, and how we learn from the ecological issue, in light of the three ecologies: that of the climate (environment), that of societal relations and that of human (mental) subjectivity. The researcher has used eco-critical discourse analysis for revealing the issues related to ecology, evaluates and understand the relations, the events, embedded ideology which is working against the ecosystem of our planet.
