A Socio-Cognitive Analysis of Nation Building Discourse: Applying Van Dijk’s Model to Quaid-e-Azam 30 October 1947 Speech

This study offers socio-cognitive critical discourse analysis of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s speech conveyed on 30th October 1947. By operating Teun A. van Dijk's three-dimensional model of CDA, how individuals make sense of talk by utilizing their cognitive resources linking dialect, meaning, and memory—to shape coherent mental representations of what they examined or listen and the linguistic highlights of discourse were analyzed. The research uncovers his key utilize of rhetoric and comprehensive dialect, how Jinnah situated himself as a political and visionary leader and served as a unifier among assorted communities of Pakistan. By utilizing Teun A. van Dijk's 3D model, this study investigates the importance of this discourse, how it instilled a sense of self-belief in a nation, gave strength to the people and how it serves as a pivotal transformative device for the direction and preparing people for approaching challenges and way better future.
