Abstract

This study aimed to explore the challenges faced by school administrators in implementing an ICT-based curriculum in a selected secondary school in Karachi. A qualitative case study approach was employed to gain an in-depth understanding of administrators' experiences and perspectives. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with the principal, vice principal, academic coordinator, ICT in-charge, and school administration officer. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings revealed several key challenges, including inadequate ICT infrastructure, financial constraints, insufficient teacher training, and increased workload. Participants highlighted issues such as outdated computers, unreliable internet connectivity, limited funding for acquiring new technologies, and a lack of ICT-related professional development opportunities for teachers. Despite these challenges, school administrators demonstrated positive attitudes toward ICT integration and recognized its potential to enhance teaching and learning in secondary education. The study highlights the need for improved ICT infrastructure, increased financial support, and comprehensive teacher training programs to facilitate the effective implementation of ICT-based curricula in schools.
