Abstract

Children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) represent a vulnerable population experiencing significant health inequalities across multiple domains. This literature review examines the evidence regarding health disparities affecting these children, exploring physical health, mental health, access to healthcare services, and social determinants of health. The review synthesises findings from recent research to identify key patterns of inequality and their underlying causes, while highlighting implications for policy and practice.
