Abstract

This paper aims at exploring Eliot’s selected poem from the perspective of fright and fear. The paper uses content analysis which enables the researcher to explore the poem and its content deeply from psychological perspective. The primary source includes the selected poem while other sources include articles and books to support the research.  According to Freud human behavior is influenced by three parts. ID, ego and superego. In Prufrock case his all desires like love, connection, communication represent id. His fear of about his personality is superego. And the ego which is supposed to balance these two factors is weak in him and at the time of making decision and communication his superego becomes dominant over his ego. This leads to fear, anxiety and hesitation. In today's life many people are also like prufrock and suffering from this anxiety and hesitation.
